In 2017, VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA AS, with its 1,084 employees, was named the largest payer of labor force taxes in the Vidzeme planning region in the group of large taxpayers, receiving a certificate of appreciation and a special award.
At the ceremony to mark the occasion, the award and certificate of appreciation were presented to the Head of the Accounting Department of VALMIERA GLASS GROUP, Jeļena Ļevčika, by the Minister for Finance of the Republic of Latvia, Dana Reizniece-Ozola, and the acting Director-General of the State Revenue Service, Dace Pelēkā. Appreciation was expressed to those taxpayers that made significant contributions to the state budget in 2017 and that demonstrated an honest and responsible attitude to the fulfilment of their tax obligations and for their successful cooperation with the tax administration.
The largest taxpayers received special awards designed to represent a flourishing tree, a symbol of inner growth and life. The tree was chosen as a symbol of successful business and a sustainable national economy.
