The annual VALMIERA GLASS UK Ltd. Family Day took place on 12th May at Sherborne Football Club. The event included games for kids, bouncy castles and a football match. There was also a Hog Roast and drinks for everybody available all day. The event provided a great opportunity to meet outside the work place and to spend time with family and friends.
VALMIERA GLASS UK Ltd. challenged local recycling company M&J Bowers to a game of football as part of the annual Family Fun Day celebrations. VALMIERA GLASS UK Ltd. started the game brightly, but a goal against the run of play from M&J Bowers gave the latter the confidence to go on and score three more before the half-time whistle was blown. The second half was much better for the VALMIERA GLASS UK Ltd. team, who showed great spirit in fighting back with two quick goals from ace marksman Orlando Gheorghe, bringing the score to 2-4. Finally, a late goal from our guests meant the match ended in their favour by five goals to two. There were handshakes all round at the final whistle, and all of the players thoroughly enjoyed the day and expressed hoped for a re-match next year!
