Students of the Valmiera Secondary School of Design and Art visit during their project week

26. September, 2022

In August, AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA responded to an invitation to allow the students of the Valmiera Secondary School of Design and Art to develop a project for one of their study programmes within the framework of the school’s project week. Without much ado, it was decided to entrust the students of the design programme with the task of suggesting various arrangements for the Textile Production Unit’s reception room since it had undergone interior repairs but had not yet been furnished.

September began with project week for students of the Valmiera Secondary School of Design, and we were visited by first- and fourth year students of the interior design programme. The task was not easy. The Textile Production Unit’s reception room is used for at least four purposes, i.e. for short shift meetings and the presentation of various information, as a cloakroom, as well as a place for short coffee, tea and snack breaks.

The students had a week to develop proposals and prepare drawings.

In the end, a concept called “PAVEDIENS” (THREAD) was selected by the company. According to the students who submitted it, each small thread is part of a network of threads that together form a strong and integral team. This is how they perceived AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA over the week they spent on the premises. They felt that each employee is an important “ingredient” in creating the final product and overall team.
