On September 13, 2018, we were honoured to welcome Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia H.E. Māris Kučinskis who years ago, as evidenced by our photo archives, while working as the Chairman of Valmiera City Council, was present and expressed his good wishes at one of the most important events for the development of AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA, namely, at the official ceremony of laying a time capsule in the foundation of the first state-of-art one-stage glass fibre production unit in 2000.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister and Board Member of AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA Ģirts Vēveris, as well its Member of the Supervisory Board Andris Oskars Brutāns discussed the economical situation, especially in the industrial and manufacturing sector, and also visited the manufacturing units to see the company's production processes.
During the visit, the Prime Minister emphasized the noteworthy contribution of AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA to the development of Valmiera City and its region, as well as to the national economy in general, considering that the company provides more than 1100 jobs and is the largest taxpayer and manufacturer of export products in Vidzeme region.
H.E. M. Kučinskis kindly wrote in our guestbook: "I was very pleased to visit once again one of the flagship companies in Valmiera and our country. Stability and continuous development serves as a benchmark for everyone, and it can only be achieved by the good work and attitude of those working in the factory. I am truly proud of you!"
