October saw more good news for Valmiera Glass UK Ltd. Following an examination of its existing quality management system, a new ISO 9001:2008 certifi cate was approved and issued. The certificate will remain valid through 2018.
ISO 9001:2008 is the most recognised international quality management standard. Compliance with the standard shows customers that a company takes efforts to ensure the quality of its products and, as such, is able to compete successfully in the global market. The introduction of ISO standards has made it possible to ensure that products are of consistently high quality, thus increasing customer loyalty, improving management processes and saving resources.
Roger Diserens, QA, Lab & Atex® Development Manager, emphasises the significance of the certificate for the company: ‘We constantly pay attention to quality management issues. This is one of the reasons why nobody even dared to doubt the necessity to acquire the certifi cate. Compliance with this standard is invaluable in our customer relations because, without it, we would not be able to continue cooperation with our partners in the aerospace industry; also, our relationships with other demanding customers, for instance, car manufacturers, producers of fi re safety products and architects would be affected.”
