It has been more than half a century since JSC Valmieras stikla šķiedra was established. Over the course of time, technologies have developed, production volumes have increased, and the range of products has changed considerably. We now offer hundreds of many different products for specific markets, but did you know that years ago the company produced mainly consumer goods?
In the past, JSC Valmieras stikla šķiedra manufactured curtains from various decorative fabrics. The product range included around 500 multicoloured and 200 plain fabrics, as well as different consumer goods, such as tissues, sports bags, motorcycle helmets, back support belts, tennis rackets, etc. Valmiera Glass UK Ltd, in turn, used to manufacture silk fabrics, which were also highly appreciated by the British Royal Family.
The current product range has changed a lot, and compared to the late 20th century, Valmiera Glass Group now focuses on the development of technical features of the products and specific industrial markets including composite materials, heating, technical insulation and construction sectors.
