AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA received a commendation from the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia for making a significant contribution to the improvement of professional education and excellent work with professional educational institutions in the Vidzeme region.
Dace Purmale, AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA HR Director, said: ‘Our company is open to interns attaining both vocational and higher professional education. We are happy that young people choose our company for their internships where the working environment allows them to acquire the first skills for their future careers. We have developed especially close working relationships with Valmiera Vocational School and we know that the students there receive a good foundation of theoretical knowledge which they can strengthen through practical work to learn a trade at our company. We urge young people to be brave, not to be afraid of the production environment and to choose a profession with a view to the future!’
During their internships, young people admit that practical work in a real working environment brings new discoveries and multiplies their professional skills in addition to being a great opportunity to gain experience at an international company.
In 2021, AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA helped 34 interns from different educational establishments to acquire experience and knowledge.
Moreover, AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA was one of the pioneers of hands-on education in Latvia, opening its doors to the first students from the dual Textile Production Technologies and Production of Goods programme.
