The opening of the Valmiera Glass USA. Corp. production unit in Dublin, Georgia, U.S.A., on March 26, 2015 was the No. 1 event of the year. It is the most serious project of a Latvian company in America to date. Purposefully investing in development, the company has shown how to outgrow the frontiers of Europe and find new space and perspective for expansion.
The opening of the production unit in the U.S.A. is the visible part of an iceberg: enduring purposeful action. To start with, the North American export market was developed, until finally – after visiting more than 40 American regions – the most suitable location for an own plant was found and a state chosen that supports industrial development. 6.5 million U.S. dollars (4.8 million euros) have been invested in the plant so far, and investments of 20 million U.S. dollars are planned for the coming five years, securing jobs for 150 people.
