AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA has prepared an Environmental Product Declaration for the glass fibre construction mesh it produces. Now, our customers will be able to use construction mesh at sites with high ecological and sustainability requirements, and the declaration will certify the sustainability of construction.
The Environmental Product Declaration is a voluntary and widely known type of certification for various products that provides easily understandable and comparable information about the impact of the product life cycle on the environment from the extraction of raw materials to manufacturing and distribution. Also called the Type III environmental declaration, it has been developed according to international standards (ISO 14025 and ISO 14040) and verified by a third party to ensure accuracy and reliability. The declaration of our glass fibre mesh is valid for five years, i.e. until November 2027.
As sustainable construction practices become more important, there is an ever-greater demand for accurate information on the environmental characteristics of construction materials. Thus, the declaration of our construction mesh will help our customers who strive to receive a LEED, BREEAM or DGNB green construction certificate to meet these requirements, to assess the environmental impact of the product life cycle, and to select the most sustainable option from all the materials available in the global market. Moreover, concerning sustainability, the construction mesh of AS VALMIERAS STIKLA ŠĶIEDRA already reduces environmental impact: when buildings are insulated with this material, their energy efficiency and sustainability increases, and the loss of heat decreases.
