Production Operatives - Finishing (4 available positions)

OVERALL FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:

Assist with the day to day running of machine process requirements within the department, optimising quality standards and maximising efficiency throughout.  
  
MAIN DUTIES: 

  • Assist with the running of any machines in the finishing department;
  • Communicate all faults and production area issues to the Finishing Lead Person and/ or Production manager;  
  • Follow and implement standard operating procedures, making and documenting adjustments where necessary, to improve the quality and/or efficiency of the machines;
  • Adjust machine controls when instructed to do so by the Finishing Lead Person, to improve quality and efficiency; 
  • Join fabric with heat sealer;
  • Keep area clean and tidy and ensure 5S is followed;
  • Assist in removing rolls off the front of the machine;
  • Undertaking training before working independently on machines; 
  • Cover tasks in other areas as required;
  • Rotating shift work.

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND/ OR QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Ability to self-manage, organise and prioritise tasks in accordance with company expectations;
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well both in teams and individually;
  • Good verbal and written English language skills;
  • Physically fit – required to lift 25kgs continuously throughout the working day;

Machine Operatives - C&L (6 available positions)

OVERALL FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB: 

Assist in the day to day running of machines and process requirements within the department in an efficient and productive manner, meeting both quality and operational targets.  
  
MAIN DUTIES: 

  • Assist in inspection of treated, coated and greige fabrics in accordance to company inspection methods and procedures;
  • Optimise quality standards and maximise efficiency throughout;
  • Communicate all faults and production area issues to the shift leader;
  • Constantly observe the material on the machines, taking appropriate action when faults are observed in accordance with company standards and procedures;
  • Make any checks necessary to ensure the smooth running of the machine; 
  • Make adjustments to machine controls when instructed to do so by the shift leader;
  • Loading and unloading material onto machinery, using a hoist as required;
  • Ensure that PPE and RPE is used and maintained to a good standard;
  • Rotating shift work.

Shift Leaders - Finishing (2 available positions)

OVERALL FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:

To take responsibility of the shift in terms of supervision of staff, attainment of production and quality targets, ensuring the efficient running of the production processes. Able to competently run all machines and cover all jobs within the department. Ensuring staff comply with health and safety guidelines and follow procedures. 

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Optimise quality standards and maximise efficiency of production; 
  • Supervision of the personnel working in and around the department;
  • Improving the work area using 5S and LEAN methodologies, ensuring FOD is minimized;
  • Communicate all faults and production area issues to the relevant persons;
  • Ensure that all PPE and RPE is used and maintained to a good standard;
  • Regularly observe the material on the machines, taking appropriate action when faults are observed in accordance with company standards and procedures;
  • Assist in the day to day running of machine process requirements within the department;
  • Ensure the correct completion of all production paperwork, including roll tickets, production orders, etc.;
  • Adjust machine controls to improve quality and efficiency;
  • To ensure all products are produced to the relevant specifications;
  • Oversee and assist in inspection of treated, coated and greige fabrics in accordance with company inspection methods and procedures;
  • To ensure that all direct staff comply with the company’s health and safety procedures;

Quality Inspectors (3 available positions)

OVERALL FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:

To inspect and grade both treated and greige fabrics in accordance with company inspection methods and procedures, recording results whilst operating re-roll/inspection machinery or as an on-plant/on-loom inspector. This includes maximising efficiency and optimising quality standards throughout. 

Or to set up and operate slitting machinery, ensuring that the material is processed in accordance to specified requirements with minimal/ no defects, in the most efficient way possible.  
   
MAIN DUTIES:

  • Inspecting material to the appropriate quality standards;
  • Maintaining efficient level of production, through efficient and responsible inspection;
  • Ensuring that the correct inspection policies and procedures are applied during inspection;
  • Communicate recurring faults and production area issues to management;
  • Ensuring the correct completion of all production paperwork; including roll tickets, production orders, inspection orders, labels, etc.;
  • Assist on production ranges whilst cutting operations are undertaken;
  • Make constant checks/ inspection on the quality of fabric and record results;
  • Ensure fabric/ rolls meet requirements;
  • Make checks to machinery and where required make adjustments to improve quality and efficiency;
  • Loading/ unloading fabric;
  • Cutting fabric to the required specifications;
  • Cover tasks in other areas as required;
  • To carry out basic maintenance on machinery i.e., lubrication, cleaning etc.;
  • Examine completed materials for defects;
  • Measure completed materials to ensure they meet specifications and requirements;
  • Rotating shift work.

Maintenance Manager (1 available position)

OVERALL FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB: 

The Maintenance Manager has responsibility for managing the workload of the Maintenance department as well as be expected to carry out reactive and preventive maintenance.
  
MAIN DUTIES:

  • Accountable for the day to day performance of the maintenance team, working alongside the team delivering results;
  • Developing and implementing maintenance plans;
  • Planning of maintenance schedules;
  • Direct the maintenance team to ensure all daily tasks and checks are completed and documented;
  • To oversee the daily job list and delegate jobs accordingly;
  • To ensure all works are carried out within budget;
  • To manage external contractors whilst on site;
  • Organise labour within the department and arrange cover/overtime when required;
  • Take responsibility for the safety of the maintenance department and its employees;
  • Ensure that all machinery and equipment is properly and safely maintained to agreed standards;
  • To keep employee records up-to date (including overtime); 
  • Take responsibility for ordering stock (parts, etc.) for the maintenance department;
  • Identifying and organising training requirements.

  • Methodical and able to follow technical drawings;
  • Sound knowledge of electronic engineering;
  • Competent with handling responsibility, managing and supervising employees;

Handy Person (1 available position)

OVERALL FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:

To support the Lead Painter and General Handy Person in maintaining the site, through the preparation, painting & decorating of surfaces and general repairs.  
  
MAIN DUTIES:

  • The preparation and painting of surfaces such as walls, floors and machinery; 
  • The maintenance and general repair of surfaces, fixtures and fittings;
  • Assembling and installing flat pack furniture such as desks, shelves, etc.;
  • Ensuring road and other surfaces are suitable to drive or walk upon, e.g. using a salt spreader on untreated roads or high grip paint on stairs;
  • Carry out projects identified by the 5S program;
  • Care, maintenance and planting of plants, shrubs and trees on site;
  • Move products and materials around the site, using a forklift as necessary;
  • Carrying out the removal of waste and maintaining an acceptable level of cleanliness across and throughout the site;
  • Loading and use of compactor with delivery by fork-lift as necessary;
  • Assisting the maintenance department when they are undertaking large projects. 

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND/ OR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to self-manage, organise and prioritise tasks in accordance with company expectations;
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well both in teams and individually;
  • Ability to prepare and paint a variety of surfaces to a satisfactory level;
  • Familiarity with hand power tools, when they are appropriate and can be used safely and successfully; 
  • Able to demonstrate diligence and attention to detail when undertaking tasks;
  • Satisfactory numeracy and literacy ability required to complete company records/ follow procedures;
